A Perfect Fall Day at Baron’s Cove

A perfectly delightful Autumn day among friends, both new and old, at Baron’s Cove in Sag Harbor, New York.

Saturday Brunch on the enclosed patio serenaded with the soulful live music of Robert Bruey.

The weather could not have been more perfect. Sunshine, blue skies, the crisp cool of fall in the air with a light breeze by the harbor. The landscape alight with the bright colors of the fall foliage, and abundant harvest of pumpkins and apples abounding everywhere. Halloween decorations peeking out of store windows, restaurant displays and coastal homes. Festive, fabulous and fun.

Bruey’s music has been described as:

honest and real, raw and meaningful, gritty and naturalistic. His deft, spare and unique finger-picking style — with notes carefully left alone to be heard in the moment — provides a perfect complement for his earthy and soulful voice and the meaningful, introspective lyrics of his songs.

As a musical artist, he paints with words — imbuing his songs with imagery that enables listeners to visualize his stories as he sings them. Although he cites such diverse artists as Dave Matthews, Van Morrison, Waylon Jennings, Jackson Browne and Damien Rice as influences, Robert Bruey is his own muse blazing his own musical path – one that should lead him into listening rooms and living rooms far and wide.

That said, the food at Baron’s Cove, was on point, the service, attentive, the company, most pleasant, all of which added up to a delightful day which I hope to repeat.

That shouldn’t be too difficult to do as Rob is scheduled to appear at Baron’s Cove, and elsewhere on Long Island, on multiple dates throughout the rest of this year.

I capped the day off with a pleasant walk through Sag Harbor town.

Loving this time of year on the East End of Long Island!

Should you wish to extend the experience and stay overnight, Baron’s Cove has lovely accommodations. See what their website has to say about them:

Baron’s Cove boasts 67 rooms and sits on the edge of the harbor in historic Sag Harbor. Opened in 1958, Baron’s Cove is celebrating its 65th anniversary this season. Baron’s is just a 5- minute walk to Sag Harbor’s charming Main Street. The bar is a local gathering place, hosting live music most nights each week; the wood burning hearth, is warm and inviting on any night there is a chill in the air. The high ceilinged, beamed dining room soars above the harbor and serves classic American fare as the American flag on the wooden flagpole clanks ever so softly outside in the breeze.

As if that’s not convincing enough, read what others have to say about staying at Baron’s Cove:

Baron’s Cove was honored as one of the Top 20 Hotels in the New York and Mid-Atlantic region by Condé Nast Traveler Readers’ Choice Awards. Baron’s Cove was also rated as the #1 hotel in Sag Harbor, NY on TripAdvisor. Recently, Baron’s Cove was awarded Winner for Top Hotel in the South Fork by Dan’s Paper’s “Best of the Best 2022″.

The Fall is a perfect season to visit the area. The weather is walkable, there are fewer crowds and certainly less traffic than in the summer, the harvest shows up in decorations and dining, and the feeling is oh-so-festive. More information found here.
