The Red Salt Room | The Garden City Hotel

My plate runneth over with a selection of the Brunch offerings at The Red Salt Room

Sunday Brunch at The Red Salt Room in The Garden City Hotel may be beyond anything you have ever experienced before. It was for me. I will let the pictures speak for themselves, because words fail me in describing this event.

We had an 11:30am reservation because we wanted to get there early in order to have the best selection of the freshest available offerings on the buffet. We didn’t have to worry about them running out. They freshen the displays often. However, an early reservation also assured us a choice of tables, immediate and attentive service before many others arrived, as well as a longer time to linger as we enjoyed our time together over our meal.

In line with what I have come to expect from The Garden City Hotel, The Red Salt Room impressed us with its timeless and elegant decor, attentive service and attention to detail. Upon being seated we were immediately offered drinks, which the waiters freshen as often as you like. As an added bonus a waiter brought a side table up to our table for us to park our handbags, so we didn’t have to park them on the floor. A lovely and classy gesture.

Our waiter motioned us to the area outside of the restaurant where the Brunch Buffet was set up. And what a set-up this was! Somehow the hotel staff had magically removed all of the furnishings in the side lobby adjoining the restaurant and set the entire area up with numerous stations each offering a different category of tantalizing culinary creations.

There was a station with salads and dressings, another station with breads and baked goods. There was a crepe station, where chefs personalized their creations to your preferences, while another chef stood by a carving station, offering freshly cut slices of beef. And yet another chef offered up the restaurant’s famous candied bacon on a clothesline, both a visionary and culinary delight.

There was something, no many things, for everyone, from standard classics like french toast and omelettes to current trends and beyond. This is a smorgasbord of culinary delights and there is no limit to how often you can refill your plate! Or your glass!

The Seafood Tower

Did I mention the Seafood Tower? No doubt the star of this show taking center stage in this production and offering up a mesmerizing show of shellfish, including lobsters, shrimp, raw bar and sushi rolls.

Heading back to our table, our plates full, we pass the chocolate fountain with fruits for dipping, the bread and pastry selection and a candy table galore. Our eyes continued to pop as our taste buds salivated and our stomachs roared in delight with the choices before us.

And, again, as I have come to expect from The Garden City Hotel, the service was impeccable and attentive, the ambiance relaxing, allowing us more time to linger, savor and enjoy every morsel on our plates, and every moment we had with each other.

Reservations are required. Sundays from 11am-2pm. Book early and enjoy! I can’t think of any other Brunches I’ve had that can top this experience. And I can’t wait for another excuse to return.
